New Prospects

Most of you have heard something like “what we think about triggers how we feel.”

Let’s take this to the next steps. How you feel will control how you look. Whether you like it or not, your new prospects see you AS YOU ARE, not necessarily how you think you are. New prospects are very observant, and they pick up a specific vibe from you. This applies to anyone you speak with during your day.

How you “look” includes how you speak, stand, sit, gesture. . .and the list goes on.  And sometimes the only one in the room who is unaware, is YOU!  If you start with negative thoughts about your day’s agenda, you will feel negative. By the time you have your first encounter with new prospects, your body is already preparing to “look” how you feel. This will continue with a natural momentum from meeting to meeting.

One sure way to cure any negative signals you might display is to be prepared.  The night before you should review the step-by-step approach for any meeting the following day.  This will create positive thoughts before going to sleep.  Any fear or doubt you might have had would be set aside because now you have confidence in your plan. This is also a good time to make sure that ALL negative thoughts are eliminated.

Then when you start your day, your thinking will be positive, and this will flow into your feelings and actions and ultimately how you appear to others.  Whatever you convey to others throughout your day will be framed with your attitude, your confidence. . .your “look.”
